Never wear glitter unless its on a gown for the Oscars, or for a Halloween costume. This was taken in September. Not one piece she is wearing goes with any other piece. Oh, but once I had to live a week without a mirror. It was the hardest week of my life. During that week, I realized I can not live without a full length mirror. Or cheese.
Maybe she just moved? It is actually not that bad, but is totally confusing.

This young lady works at the African Pavilion in Pudong, site of the 2010 World Expo. The African Pavilion is one of the more interesting pavilions. Interesting because it was funded by the P to the R to the C. hmm.
Back to it.
I think dressing should be season-less but if I had to comment on dressing for seasons it would be this. The best part of summer is minimalizing. So after a long summer of that, the best part of the fall season is accessorizing. Scarves, belts, layers, and oversized leather bags. A bonus with oversized bags is that they can hide them hips and make any girl (female or male) look a little more petite, if thats the look you’re going for. I only carry large bags. Ask my three friends.

Smart use of the extra long sash in this ladies kimono silk dress. She put on her dress, wrapped the sash around once, added her cardigan, and continued to wrap the sash around the outside of the cardigan, cinching her small waist. Her custom made coffee brown Gippetto shoes match her tea cup personality and pose.

Two things.
This outfit is perfect. It is a super casual getup but has some subtleties that make it fabulous. Or, maybe he looks so great cause he’s in love. Aww.
Focus.
Fit. Usually things must fit correctly, but sometimes over-sizing it or shrinking it a bit is an easy way to make an ordinary outfit look slightly different from the pack. Looking perfectly well fitted is nice but that’s it. It’s a fine line to walk.
THE RULES
When to oversize it:
Giant Coats. If you’re swimming in a coat it looks like a blanket. The Row creators are all about over-sized coats, in their own wardrobes.
Big shoulder sleeves on a woman. They make you look effortless, especially when sliding off the shoulder. On a man, well, it’s kinda weird. Just take off the shirt.
Large winter hats. Make you look like a cute Eskimo. Everybody loves Eskimos.
Shoes. For men, it makes you look… like you have big feet. But for women, larger boots make your legs look skinnier.
When to Undersize it.
Shortened sleeves on a blazer or coat while everything else fits perfectly. Not quite 3/4 sleeve length short but slightly (1.5″) raised. This fella blended his plaid hoody in with his understated dark plaid vintage blazer. If you do it, you must have the blazer fit correctly shoulder to shoulder and in the bodice.
Jeans. Skinny pants really suck you in and make you look longer.
The Belly. Just suck it in. I do all the time.

I am starting to like the new wrinkles on the side of my face when I squint my eyes because I cant see through my dirty contact lenses. The idea of a few wrinkles, age spots, and grays is somewhat appealing because I will appear to be mature and wise with these new characteristics. And I’ll wear more cardigans.
Actually, I am only 29 but if I wake up with a droopy face tomorrow I’ll go with it. Because I will continue my ongoing quest for the perfect outfit. Age wont stop that. So I can always appreciate seeing a well dressed older person on the street like this gentlemen. He must be hitting 70 and he’s wearing a nice black cashmere suit on a leisurely Sunday afternoon outside one of Seoul’s many mega-malls. Most men in Seoul are sporting well made slim fitting suits, in contract to pajama pants in the street of Shanghai or cargo shorts in California. Sigh. Age should not be a deterrent from trying to look your best (or marriage, for those who get lazy).
This is a tribute to my beautiful ama, who never let age stop her from looking fabulous.

I hate the Giants. That’s it.
