Postcards from Aloysius, Sydney

2011 May 10

These up-cycled baubles are made of old stamps in both new and recycled settings. The Cooper’s bottle cap pendants are an ideal souvenir of Australia for a brood who appreciates something a bit quirky and beautiful at the same time. What I love best about them is knowing you own something hand-crafted and completely one-of-a-kind.

The lovely lady in the picture was manning the booth for her friend – who designs the jewelry  - and modeling one of the gorge pendants around her neck. Major props for whimsical sailboat print dress as well.

Additionals:

Apparently some philatelic fools think the designers should have potentially valuable stamps appraised before slicing and dicing them up.
Buy at Glebe Markets on Saturdays.
