Belles & Rebelles
Blogger Megan Averbuch, hailing from grand NYC, makes me feel warm on the inside, like after chugging a large dose of Gabriel Márquez. My philosophy in life is to mix it up. This family adoring, Mary-Kate Olsen loving, eclectic layering stylist loves to do what most fashion-loving Americans do, mix high-end with low-end garments & accessories. This is a very new concept to the vast reaches of China (excluding Hong Kong fashionistas who know better), but I give it 10 years.
*Tip of the Season: Double layer them scarves to keep you toasty. Warm up! It’s almost V-day!!

This is Kim, the lady behind CuKimber. The line is hand-made jewelry made from materials collected from around the world. Kim also helps organize the Designer’s Corner at Jiashan Market in downtown Shanghai.
Her quirky heather grey pleated top is adorable! And, usually a fashion no-no, combining unconventional colors are really popular this year. Pink and red have also been seen on other starlets like SPJ.

This little lady is wearing her mothers vintage top and her mother by her side, its hard to believe there are so few chinese women who would dare ware vintage clothing in, even their own mothers.
Let’s make note of her amazing lip color. She mixed YSL Rouge Pur, #144, lip color with a cheapy convenient store color to get that orange coral lip. Love it so much I sort of wish I was pale now. The lips are a perfect compliment to her neutral toned outfit.
Happy Birthday to this little munchkin brother. Except he’s now 29 years old. I love babies slash kids in cardigans. Gets me every time. That and chow chows on the streets. Grown up Erwin is founder of GameDay China, one of the first organized American football leagues in the PRC. 1st inaugural game kicks off just in time for Thanksgiving festivities on Sunday, Nov. 27th, at Shanghai’s Nike Football Field inside the Shanghai Sport Center Grounds (alongside Lingling Lu, Shanghai Indoor Stadium).
Happy Thanksgiving!!
