The Eve Of, Worldwide

2012 January 22

Hello!! We’re back after a short break. It is the eve of Chinese New Year and the city of Shanghai is dead quiet and snowing.  Speaking of Eve, we met this lovely blogger at WBK and is the contributor of culture/fashion blog Eve Loves. She does accessories well.

Happy eve everyone!

Brilliant Lips, Shanghai

2011 November 26

This little lady is wearing her mothers vintage top and her mother by her side, its hard to believe there are so few chinese women who would dare ware vintage clothing in, even their own mothers.

Let’s make note of her amazing lip color. She mixed YSL Rouge Pur, #144, lip color with a cheapy convenient store color to get that orange coral lip. Love it so much I sort of wish I was pale now. The lips are a perfect compliment to her neutral toned outfit.

Eye Candy, Shanghai

2011 November 11

We’ve been busy little bees, but we haven’t forgotten you, fashion. On the brain…colors. I will never desert you, my favorite color, creme. But it is the year of the Colors. Next year. I suddenly feel you fusia, forest green, coral, dusty dusk blue and even peach? Color block your garments and you will surely be pleasing to the eye.

The Hat Lab, Shanghai

Meet Marion.

Marion the milliner fell in love with hats two years ago.  Her passion for unique headpieces brought her to Paris to be trained in accessories design.

M’s aspiration is to design vintage beauties to embellish the heads of women who possess a gypsy soul, and encourage them to play dress-up in their everyday lives.

Growing up in a military world with Dad and his tales of voyages, his ethnic discoveries, and his sailor suits, M feels deeply connected with the past, paying tribute to navy officers, burlesque dancers, and explorers of bygone days: her muses to design.

Now based in Shanghai, M delicately hand-makes her hair jewelry, combining feminine and masculine elements, creating a military boudoir ambiance. Each head candy tells its own one-of-a-kind story.

Madagascar-ian, Shanghai

2011 October 14

This beaut from Madagascar has the most flawless skin. For fall she is taking a classic look to a more personal level. The classic nautical wool sweater has little manufactured moth-holes throughout to give it that worn look or a little sexy-time action (as Cristina would call it), is longer in the back so it actually looks like she is wearing nothing but a sweater out, with a pair of affordable Christian V. Siriano snake print patent leather heels. If I had hair like that I would tease it out and do that pretty voluminous model afro seen on the runways.

Additionals:
Pretty afro I wish I had
We love Mr. Siriano
Could not find any sweater better than the one shes wearing. Guess this one is ok.
I actually really like this guys sweater for women
And, I would seriously buy this sweater for my husband if it weren’t seriously that price.

No Man, The Bund

2011 September 22

I would rather be overdressed than underdressed any day. I am all for casual in everyday wear, especially having  married into casual (a Hawaiian boy), but so inappropriate. This was taken at the launch of 6 Magazine, a new fashion editorial mag.  When the occasion calls for it, dress appropriately. If you don’t know the rules just do not wear board shorts with sandals at a cocktail event or past 8 pm, unless there is a swim-able body of water within 2 miles. The Huangpu River does not count. I wouldn’t even dip my toe in that.

P.S. Please never wear that combo of flowers on flowers ever again, perfect stranger. Honesty hurts.
